Are you an electrician or technician with experience from trains or rolling stock, who enjoys troubleshooting and hands-on technical work?
We are looking for an Technician to join a technical team working with modern rail vehicles in Oslo. This role is suited to someone who has previous experience from the rail industry and enjoys identifying faults, understanding technical systems and finding practical solutions.
You will work closely with engineers, mechanics and other electricians, carrying out troubleshooting, repairs, modifications and planned technical work across a range of electrical and electromechanical systems.
Your main responsibilities
- Troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical and electromechanical faults
- Carrying out repairs and technical modifications
- Working with systems such as traction, brakes, doors, HVAC, bogies, control and passenger systems
- Reading electrical schematics and technical documentation
- Investigating recurring faults and identifying root causes
- Documenting completed work and technical findings
- Working closely with engineers, mechanics and other technicians
The workload is varied, with a combination of planned activities and troubleshooting when unexpected faults occur.
What we're looking for
- Vocational qualification within electrical, electronics, automation, mechanics or a similar technical trade
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience working with trains or rolling stock
- Experience with repair, maintenance and/or troubleshooting of electrical or electromechanical equipment
- Good fault-finding skills and the ability to read schematics and technical documentation
- A practical and structured approach to technical problems
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Good English skills
- Experience with service reports and ERP systems is an advantage
