Seaonics is strengthening its Concept & Solutions team and is looking for a Concept Engineer with special focus on crane applications to join us. The role is central in developing robust, compliant, and competitive technical solutions in close collaboration with Sales - particularly in early project and tender phases.

You will work with mission-critical handling equipment for specialized vessels, where technical quality, operational performance, regulatory compliance, and cost competitiveness are all essential. In Concept & Solutions, you will be at the forefront of developing advanced offshore and maritime equipment, working closely with a highly experienced and multidisciplinary team. You will have the opportunity to influence technical solutions in the early project phases where your impact matters most, while contributing directly to both technology development and commercial success.

Duties and responsibilities

• Own the technical direction of the crane product line: roadmap, technical profile, architecture and continuous improvement
• Recommend how electric, hydraulic and hybrid solutions should be used, and prepare the basis for that decision
• Drive productization: define modules, interfaces, capacity steps and configurable parameters together with Engineering, using evidence from tenders and projects
• Take the leading technical role in crane tenders, from first customer enquiry to handover to Engineering, and own the cost basis of the solution
• Present solutions and the reasoning behind them to customers, and ensure compliance with applicable standards, regulations and class requirements
• Secure a good handover to Engineering, and bring learning from execution back into the product line
• Lead the crane concept work in Norway and Poland as one team, with common methods and technical standards, and build capability in both locations
• Work closely with our Product Portfolio Manager on the commercial side of the portfolio, and with segment and system owners where the crane forms part of an integrated system

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Marine, Offshore, or similar)
• Minimum 5 years relevant experience, preferably within offshore, marine, or handling equipment
• Experience with engineering calculations and technical evaluations
• Experience with 2D and 3D design/modelling tools
• Experience in leading or coordinating technical work in projects is beneficial
• Working knowledge of applicable standards and regulations (e.g. DNV or similar)
