We are looking for an experienced and curious Petrophysicist who enjoys combining technical expertise with collaboration and problem-solving. In this role, you will contribute to exploration, appraisal, field development, and production projects by delivering high-quality reservoir evaluations and integrated petrophysical studies that support key business and operational decisions.

Based in Stavanger, you will work closely with geologists, geophysicists, reservoir engineers, and clients to develop a deeper understanding of reservoir performance and identify opportunities to maximize asset value. Whether leading technical studies, supporting well planning, or engaging directly with clients, you will play an important role in translating complex subsurface data into clear and actionable insights.

Your responsibilities

As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for petrophysical interpretation and reservoir characterization across a wide range of assets and development stages. You will integrate well log, core, pressure, and production data to evaluate reservoir properties, assess hydrocarbon potential, and support reserves estimation and field development planning.

You will also contribute to proposal development, project scoping, and client discussions, helping to build strong relationships and identify new opportunities. In addition, you will support the growth of colleagues through knowledge sharing, mentoring, and promoting best practices across projects.

  • Lead petrophysical studies and integrated reservoir characterization projects.
  • Deliver technical recommendations and presentations to clients and stakeholders.
  • Support business development through client engagement, opportunity identification, proposal preparation, and project scoping.
  • Mentor junior petrophysicists and promote knowledge sharing and technical training
  • Ensure quality and consistency of petrophysical deliverables

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in petrophysical interpretation and reservoir evaluation
  • Strong understanding of open-hole and cased-hole log analysis, including advanced logging technologies
  • Experience integrating well logs, core analysis (RCA/SCAL), pressure, and production data
  • Knowledge of reservoir characterization, volumetric calculations, reserves estimation, and uncertainty analysis
  • Experience supporting well planning, logging program design, and QA/QC activities
  • Proficiency in Techlogor similar tools
  • Exposure to digital technologies, data analytics, or machine learning applications is considered an advantage
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to different audiences
  • Experience working directly with clients, stakeholders, or multidisciplinary project teams
