We’re looking for a talented Product Engineering Manager & Department Data Process Lead to join our team!

Are you ready to turn your passion for the outdoors into a career? For nearly 100 years, we’ve been crafting the ultimate outdoor equipment, enabling people to push beyond boundaries and embrace nature in its rawest form. Our vision, "Welcome to nature," drives everything we do---from designing cutting-edge gear for skiers, climbers, and explorers, to promoting responsible business practices that protect the environments we love.

We’re now searching for adventurous, forward-thinking individuals to join us on our mission. If you’re ready to be part of a brand that lives and breathes the spirit of exploration --- Norrøna is where your next great adventure begins.

About the position

You will lead a team of 10 Product Specialists (pattern makers), Product Technicians (seamstresses) and Product Engineers (coordinators and technical designers) in the RD&D (research, design & development) department, reporting directly to the RD&D Director.

The role is equally divided between two key areas of responsibility. First, you will lead and structure the team, ensuring that products are delivered on schedule and meet our quality standards. Second, as RD&D's Department Data Process Lead, you will ensure that our processes, systems and product data work seamlessly together, while driving the adoption of new tools and technologies, including AI.

You will work closely with designers, product developers, testers and Manufacturing, as well as the functional owners of our systems, such as PLM.

You do not need to be a pattern maker. The team has deep expertise in pattern making, fit and product specifications. What we need from you is the ability to lead people, bring structure to the work and deliver on time, combined with a good understanding of systems, data and processes.

Main responsibilities

Team leadership and delivery
  • Lead, coach and develop the team of Product Specialists, Product Technicians and Product Engineers
  • Plan, prioritise and follow up the team's work and capacity so we deliver on the collection timeline and to the right quality
  • Make sure the team's expertise in pattern making, fit and the block library is used well, shared and developed
  • Lead evaluation meetings and follow up feedback from fittings, designers and testers
  • Own complete product specifications (BOM, measurement charts, technical details) and make sure every style is handed over to Manufacturing with a complete and correct data package
  • Set clear goals for the team and report on status, capacity and budget to the RD&D Director
Department Data Process Lead
  • Own and improve the department's development process and ways of working, not only the systems
  • Be the department's entry point and first line for everything related to our software tools and product data
  • Lead roll-out, training and correct use of new functionality, and find where AI and automation create value
  • Spot patterns in daily work and turn them into improvement proposals
  • Set the standards for product data and secure data quality from development through to production
  • Work with the functional owners of each system and with the data process leads in other departments

What you bring

  • Leadership experience, preferably from leading specialists in product development, design or manufacturing
  • A proven ability to structure work, plan capacity and deliver on deadlines
  • Knowledge of garment construction, pattern making or technical outdoor products is a plus, but not a requirement
  • Experience with process improvement, change management and roll-out of new systems or functionality. Experience with PLM systems is a strong plus
  • Strong data understanding: comfortable working with structured product data, data quality and reporting (e.g. Excel or Power BI)
  • Experience as a super user or key user of business systems such as PLM: training colleagues, gathering needs and describing them clearly to functional owners
  • Interest in AI and automation in daily work
  • Good communication skills in English, knowledge of a Scandinavian language is a plus

To succeed in this role, you are structured, methodical, and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and navigate seasonal workload peaks. You have strong analytical skills and a genuine interest in data, systems, and process improvement. You are proactive, eager to learn, and comfortable driving change while bringing others on board. You build trust and credibility across the organization, making you a natural go-to person for colleagues seeking guidance and support.

Why this is a great opportunity

  • Join a premium outdoor brand with the goal of being the most responsible actor in the industry
  • A central role in shaping how Norrøna develops products digitally
  • Skilled, motivated colleagues in a friendly atmosphere at our HQ in Lysaker
  • Competitive insurance benefits, and a solid pension scheme
  • Additional perks, including access to our company cabin at Beitostølen and discounts on Norrøna products

**Start Date:**As soon as possible
