Due to high activity, InflowControl is seeking a Subsurface Engineer to join its team in Stavanger, supporting customers in optimising well performance and maximising oil recovery through innovative inflow control technology.

The role

As Subsurface Engineer, you will play a key role in helping operators understand and maximise the value of InflowControl's AICV® technology. Combining reservoir engineering, modelling and customer engagement, you will develop technical solutions tailored to customers' reservoir challenges and production objectives.

Working closely with operating companies on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, you will analyse reservoir and well performance, carry out simulations and support the design and optimisation of well completions. The role is both technical and customer-facing, with opportunities to work directly from operator offices and collaborate closely with their reservoir, completion and production engineering teams.

We are looking for an analytical and proactive engineer who enjoys solving technical challenges, communicating with customers and translating engineering insights into practical solutions. This is an opportunity to develop your expertise within a specialised technology business while making a tangible contribution to improved well performance and oil recovery.

With us, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Perform reservoir and well-completion modelling to evaluate the performance and benefits of AICV® technology.

  • Analyse reservoir and production data to identify opportunities to improve oil recovery and reduce unwanted water and gas production.

  • Develop and optimise completion designs tailored to individual well and reservoir conditions.

  • Present technical analyses, modelling results and recommendations to customers, helping them understand the value of InflowControl's solutions.

  • Work closely with customer teams, including reservoir, completion and production engineers, to address technical challenges and support project planning.

  • Act as a technical point of contact for operating companies, including working from customer offices during relevant project and operational phases.

  • Collaborate with InflowControl's engineering, reservoir and commercial teams to develop effective technical solutions and support business opportunities.

  • Contribute technical input to customer proposals, tenders and project evaluations.

We are looking for someone who:
  • Holds a BSc or MSc in Petroleum Engineering, Reservoir Engineering, Geology or a closely related discipline.

  • Has a good understanding of reservoir engineering and the ability to carry out reservoir modelling and simulation.

  • Has approximately 3--5 years of relevant experience in reservoir engineering, reservoir simulation, production optimisation or a related subsurface role.

  • Is comfortable analysing technical data and translating findings into practical recommendations.

  • Has strong communication skills and enjoys working directly with customers and multidisciplinary engineering teams.

  • Has a strong growth mindset and the confidence to respectfully and constructively challenge their own and others’ thinking.

  • Is proactive, analytical and capable of taking ownership of technical tasks and projects.

  • Is interested in applying engineering expertise to innovative technologies that improve well performance and recovery.

  • Is fluent in English; proficiency in Norwegian is an advantage, given the close collaboration with operators in the Norwegian market.

  • You identify with our values and are genuinely motivated to live by them: Integrity, Passion, Collaboration and Agility.

Experience with well-completion modelling tools such as NETool, Eclipse, tNavigator or OLGA, or previous exposure to inflow control technology, is an advantage.

We recognise that strong candidates may have different backgrounds and levels of experience. While 3--5 years of relevant experience would be ideal, we are open to considering candidates with other levels of experience who can demonstrate the right technical capabilities, motivation and potential. However, we are interested in the right person -- we want to get to know you as you are. Candidates who describe themselves in their own words is appreciated.

We offer:
  • A role where you can contribute directly to a more sustainable and environmentally friendly oil industry.

  • Continuous professional challenges in a position with varied content and work tasks.

  • A good social environment where we take care of each other and work for our colleagues’ success.

Workplace will be at InflowControl’s entity in Sandnes/Stavanger, Norway.

A good social environment where we take care of each other and work for our colleagues’ success. We encourage everyone to apply --- regardless of gender, sexual orientation, nationality, cultural background, or life situation

At InflowControl, you will be part of an innovative, fast-growing company shaping the future of oil recovery and sustainability. We maintain an entrepreneurial spirit and a flat, informal structure where everyone has influence and ownership in their work. We set high standards for ourselves and our teams and have great ambitions for the future.

We are an inclusive and diverse company, and we believe that our strength lies in the variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences within our team. As a Norwegian organization, we are committed to fairness, respect, and equal opportunities for all.

Together, we are changing the oil industry - by making better wells that maximize oil recovery while reducing unwanted water and gas production, making operations more sustainable and cost-effective.

If you want to make a difference in the oil industry, send your application as soon as possible, and before Friday 13th November
