JOIN US FOR THE FUTURE

We are currently seeking:
Business Application Manager - BW LPG

Do you want to own an entire application portfolio, not just a single system? To support our vision to be Best on Water, we are looking for a versatile, analytical professional to take genuine end-to-end ownership of the applications that run a global shipping and trading business. You will shape our application strategy, manage systems across their full life cycle -- from selection and implementation to sunset -- and drive improvements where business value and compliance are the primary drivers. Working closely with business stakeholders and IT vendors, you will introduce new tools where they create value and help colleagues get the most out of the ones we have.

You will be part of the IT and Digitalization team at BW LPG. As part of an agile, cross-functional team, we collaborate closely with the business to achieve our common, long-term objectives.
We are a deliberately small organization: decisions are made close to the business, your scope spans the whole portfolio, and you will help shape how we work rather than follow processes someone else designed. Professional growth comes as deeper expertise, broader ownership and greater influence. If that is the kind of development you find motivating, you will thrive with us.

Key Responsibilities:

Your objective is to own our portfolio of ERP, purchasing, inventory, finance, trading, reporting, ship management and planned maintenance solutions -- ensuring it remains fit-for-purpose, secure, cost-effective and aligned with business objectives and external compliance requirements.

Responsibilities will include:

• Act as the primary point of contact between business stakeholders and IT.
• Lead application selection, development and implementation projects, and manage the portfolio life cycle -- from onboarding through optimization and consolidation to retirement.
• Explore opportunities for digitalization, process automation and agentic workflows using both established and emerging technologies, including AI.
• Maintain visibility of application dependencies, integrations and business capabilities, as well as lead enterprise architecture initiatives.
• Optimize systems and align them with industry best practices and standards.
• Define and monitor application KPIs -- user adoption, business value realization and operational performance -- and identify opportunities to improve data quality, reporting and business insights.
• Train employees, ensure correct system usage and lead process improvement initiatives.
• Define, review and approve functional changes, with hands-on configuration management and change control.
• Implement relevant processes to ensure system compliance with external and internal regulations.
• Ensure quality control of new releases and their roll-out.
• Manage application vendors, service providers, licenses and service reviews -- ensuring vendor performance, contract compliance and value realization.
• Engage with vendors on product road map and advocate for enhancements.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in a relevant field of technology or business.
• Excellent command of English.
• At least five years of relevant work experience.
• Background from management or IT consulting, application management, technology development or ERP implementations in a relevant industry.
• Experience with ensuring IT compliance according to the Sarbanes-Oxley act framework will be an advantage.
• Understanding of IT and Business process architecture frameworks.
• Work permit in Norway.

Personal qualifications:

• Curious and friendly, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, international work environment.
• Ability to create structure, clear processes and appropriate system documentation.
• Enjoys creating business results through the smart use of IT solutions.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to convert challenges into robust technical solutions.
• Fast learner and motivated by growing mastery, scope and impact.
• Great collaboration and communication skills.
• Cultural awareness.

We offer:

• Competitive terms.
• International and highly competent working environment.
• Broad ownership and real influence, with development through expanding scope, new technologies and deepening expertise.
• Attractive pension scheme.
• Hybrid working environment.

The position will be based in Oslo, but some international travel will be required. Please send your application with CV and a short motivational letter through our website as soon as possible and by October 19.
