ABB are now searching for an R&D Engineer/R&D Senior Engineer, in Marine & Ports division at Fornebu or Ulsteinvik, Norway to help us build the future of Marine Technology.
Electric propulsion, AC or DC distribution, energy storage systems and new renewable energy sources for different vessel types are part of ABB’s offering to the marine industry.
In this position you will contribute to the development and maintain our marine electric power system solutions, with focus on DC distribution, energy storage solutions, and power electronic components within these systems.
Your responsibilities:
- Lead certain R&D activities within the above mentioned Projects
- Support our delivery project organizations
- Participate in defining the future technology strategy
You will participate in R&D projects related to development and maintenance of:
- In house power electronic components.
- Onboard DC Grid solutions.
- Energy storage solutions
Your background:
- B. Sc/M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering.
- A few years of work experience related to power electronics.
- Preferably knowledge of DC distribution systems and energy storage systems.
- Experience from Maritime Industry
