XIO SUSTAINABILITY ANALYTICS AS
XIO Sustainability Analytics (XIO SA) is a scientific spin-off developing EXIOBASE, a leading global dataset for spend-based carbon accounting. EXIOBASE products enable organisations to calculate carbon footprint emissions, assess environmental impacts, and analyse risks across global supply chains. Our clients include well-known financial institutions, industrial companies, consultancies, and research organisations worldwide.
XIO SA is built by a multidisciplinary team with backgrounds from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK), the United Nations, and the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA). We work on applied problems at the interface of scientific research and real-world decision-making. The founders are among the top 1% most-cited researchers in Industrial Ecology and Environmental Sciences, with more than 25 years of experience, around 40,000 scientific citations, and over 20 publications in Nature journals.
