The position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research and education in a rapidly evolving field that is critical to society and industry. The successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening our research profile, fostering collaboration with national and international partners, and shaping the next generation of OT security professionals. The position will be based at the Trondheim Campus. </p><p>The role involves a balanced portfolio of research, teaching, and academic leadership. You will be expected to develop and lead research projects, secure external funding, and publish in top-tier venues. In addition, you will contribute to the department’s educational mission by teaching and supervision.</p><p>The successful candidate is expected to conduct research in the area of Cyber Physical Security with application domains including but not limited to energy systems and maritime environments, linking to other researchers in adjacent areas in the department and across the university. In this role, you are also expected to contribute to teaching in a range of cyber security topics.</p><p>The position is sponsored by <a href="https://www.dnv.no/om/" rel="nofollow">DNV</a> as part of a university scheme.</p><p>Your immediate leader is the Head of Department.</p><br /><h2>Duties of the position</h2><ul><li>Initiate, participate in, and manage externally and internally funded research projects,  including in co-operation with DNV</li><li>Participate in and initiate research projects in co-operation with industry, government, and national as well as European funding bodies (e.g. EU, Norwegian Research Council)</li><li>Teaching at bachelor-, master- and PhD levels in all the study programs taught in the department</li><li>Teaching cyber security topics including but not limited to Cyber Physical Security</li><li>Supervision of bachelor, master and PhD students </li><li>Administrative tasks as required</li></ul><br /><h2>Required qualifications </h2><p>Professor:</p><p>You must have the following qualifications required for the position of professor:</p><ul><li>A doctoral degree in a field within the area of cyber security or its corresponding fields such as computer science, electrical engineering and mathematics, or competence at an equivalent level documented by scientific work or artistic work of the same scope and quality</li><li>A research record appropriate to your academic experience, primarily demonstrated through peer-reviewed publications</li><li>An academic track record focused on cyber security with a clearly documented focus on Cyber Physical Security</li><li>Educational competence</li><li>Norwegian language skills at level B2</li><li>Significant contributions to research or artistic development work at the highest level, in accordance with international or national standards in the field</li></ul><p>Additional requirements for professor at NTNU must be documented:</p><ul><li>Quality development in own teaching and supervision over time and a high degree of reflection on own practice</li><li>Broad experience with supervision, preferably at master&#39;s/PhD level</li><li>Initiate, lead and/or participate in the development of educational quality in the academic communities</li><li>Competence in knowledge in use (innovation, dissemination and interaction with society) </li><li>Academic leadership and elected posts/appointed roles.</li></ul><p> </p><p>Associate professor:</p><p>You must have the following qualifications required for the position of associate professor:</p><ul><li>A doctoral degree in a field within the area of cyber security or its corresponding fields such as computer science, electrical engineering and mathematics, or competence at an equivalent level documented by scientific work or artistic work of the same scope and quality. NTNU offers qualifying courses.</p><p>New employees who do not speak a Scandinavian language by appointment is required, within three years, to demonstrate skills in Norwegian or another Scandinavian language equivalent to level B2of the <a href="https://www.ntnu.edu/norwegiancourse" rel="nofollow">course for Norwegian for speakers of other languages</a> at the Department of Language and Literature at NTNU. </p><br /><h2>Preferred qualifications</h2><ul><li>Collaboration experience with industry and/or public sector</li><li>International collaboration experience and an internationally oriented mindset</li><li>Experience in designing and developing experimental research both in industrial context and laboratory environment</li><li>Experience in participation in the development of educational materials</li><li>Teaching experience from higher education, including working with diverse student groups and delivering foundational cybersecurity topics. As professor (code 1013) you are normally paid from gross 840.000 - NOK 1.000.000 per annum before tax. As required by law, 2% of this salary will be deducted and paid into the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund.</p><p>The engagement is to be made in accordance with the regulations in force concerning <a href="https://lovdata.no/dokument/NL/lov/2017-06-16-67?q&#61;lov%20om%20statens%20ansatt" rel="nofollow">State Employees and Civil Servants</a>, and the acts relating to Control of the Export of Strategic Goods, Services and Technology.
