Arctic Frontiers
Through outreach activities and with competent and committed partners on Arctic issues, Arctic Frontiers sets the Arctic agenda. The mission of Arctic Frontiers is to be a catalyst for decision-making and network building by mobilizing key voices from science, policy, business, and local Arctic communities to rapidly turn knowledge into action.
The Arctic Frontiers partnership network consists of some of the world’s leading actors in the Arctic. The competence and interdisciplinarity of the partner network are unique in both national and international contexts.
Arctic Frontiers has, since 2007, organized the annual Arctic Frontiers conference in Tromsø, which gathers scientists, businesses, policymakers, and representatives of local and indigenous peoples for holistic discussions about the future of the Arctic region. Additionally, the organization hosts year-round activities, including Arctic Frontiers Abroad events, Arctic Frontiers Open events for the public, and Arctic Frontiers Young events for the future generation of Arctic leaders aged 5 to 35 years.
The office of Arctic Frontiers is located at the Fram Centre in Tromsø, Norway.
Arctic Frontiers AS is a non-profit company 100 % owned by Akvaplan- niva, a research and consultancy company in the NIVA-group (Norwegian Institute for Water Research). The NIVA-group has over 400 employees and strong professional work environment.
